I won a couple of bids last weekend. They were instantly in communication about the items I had purchased. One item was going to cost an arm and a leg to send. They gave me the option to pick it up in person. Im currently in texas for military and was told they would hold it until I got home so I could pick it up and save the money from having to shipped. Once the items were sent, I received them within 2 days in perfect condition! I will definitely be returning in the future. Very professional, respectful, and courteous. I will definitely be doing business with them again in the future!

My husband teases me when I have trouble remembering Van Metre. I usually say Van Halen. But, in my opinion, they are ROCK STARS. They have a wonderful facility to hold in person auctions, the staff is awesome, and the auctions run so smoothly. Plus, when purchasing online, their shipping is next to none. We can always find quality antiques for our store. Well worth the 3 hour drive. Thanks Fred and a big shout out to all your staff!!

A great outlet for true Midwest charm and hospitality. A well run auction with good reach to dealers, collectors and potential customers, online and in person at their well-appointed auction barn. During sales they handle Midwest antiques with the respect and explanation they deserve. I tell people with estates about them all the time. The highest bid is the final sale (no reserves) but they have a soft close, so that gives more room for bids to increase. If you have items to sell, their policy is to send a picture in email. Worth the try! Happy auctioning!

Attended my first Van Meter Auction last Sunday. Everything was so orderly and clean. Things went right into my store and some sold within hours. It was great to see Mike there, afamiliar face from the west. Steve and Mike assisted in disassembling and showing us step by step how to set a grandfathers clock up again. When I told Mike I had a lifting restriction, he assisted. What a great auction house. Steve’s chant is very easy to listen to. It was a very fun auction and we are very proud of our new pieces in the store ——- Swan Antics, 1226 Second Street. Perry, IA
